Best Friend Gift Ideas

Finding a gift for your best friend can be a little tricky.

Sometimes because there are too many things you could find, and at other times because you can’t think of anything.

A good way of starting to work out which present to choose for them is to go to their immediate family or partner. They might have a specific idea of what they want, or perhaps even they have a great idea which you could chip in on, like a trip to Paris for example.

Creating something different can be important, to show the thought that you've put into creating a special gift, as well as reflecting the unique bond that you have.

Photo Wall 

You could purchase or create your own photo wall. These are ideal, as all it needs is a bit of wall, or door space, which many people have somewhere in their homes. Find some fantastic photos of you and your friend, which would look fab framed in 8x10, and then work out a way of compiling the photos. If you can’t find somewhere to purchase a photograph wall, then simply laminate each photo and staple each one in. Decorate with ribbon, glitter and fabric. Remember that you either have to create something really simple, or something very elaborate in order for it to look truly chic. 

Personalized Trip Book 

As well as sending her a best friends bracelet each year, why not start scrapbooking. Ask her where she’s always wanted to go on holiday, if you don’t already know, and then compile a whole load of photos from magazines, articles and advice into a big book. This could be a huge project that you undertake throughout the year, and whilst being cheap, is also a fantastic gift for special friends. You could also arrange a short trip around the nearby countryside, which they must go on, guided by you, with photographs and comments about the countryside nearby. Organize a date for this amazing roadtrip, giving your friend any money (currency) or tickets that they need. 

Beautiful Books 

If your best friend is a reader, why not buy her a rare, or beautifully bound book? Either buy a classic or check out her library when you next visit to see what copies could do with replacing. Companies like the Folio Society specialise in delivering quality books, with slipcases and gorgeous illustrations by people like Quentin Blake. Ebay is a great place to find one of a kind books, as is your local bookshop who will probably have a ‘rare’ section. 

More Personalized Gift Ideas

Other personalized gift ideas could be an engraving on something, like a sterling silver hip flask or a gold letter opener. Make sure that the item is something they could use every day, and that the words you engrave make them smile every time they see it.

This is a fantastic way of giving your friend a gift they can appreciate every day.

Simply f ill a gorgeous bag or basket full of interesting items, beauty products, food, stationery, kitchen utensils and other little random items.   You may wish to theme the basket according to their interests - for example, a friend interested in gardening might like a few simple tools, a gardening book and some seeds. 

Wrap each one individually, with a cryptic message on every label. 

You could give your special friend some personal creations, for example a selection of handmade cards, hand made cookies or personally styled unique bracelet.
