Flower
Arrangement & Bridal Bouquet
Ideas
for Your Wedding Day
Sort out your wedding flower arrangements is
central to tying in your wedding colours and
themes.
It is important to check the season of your
wedding as this will largely decide which flowers you can
use. The summer months will provide the largest range of
flowers; however, autumn and winter can offer up some
more unusual and interesting choices.
You do not always have to use a lot of
flowers to create a beautiful arrangement. Often half a dozen
more expensive flowers and use more greenery than a dozen
cheaper flowers.
When choosing a florist, it is important
that you see their portfolio so see what they could do for
you.
It is also good to get a rough idea of the
price ranges they deal with so you can get a package they suits
your style and budget. Don't be tempted to go for
cheap flowers, instead just cut down on the number that you'll
need, to help meet your budget.
Your florist will also be able to tell you
where you would like to put your flowers in both the reception
and in the ceremony and give suggestions as to styles.
They'll probably have photos or images of typical arrangements
that will be useful to give you ideas of what you would like on
your special day.
Why Not Make
Your Own Bridal Bouquet & Floral
Arrangements?
If you wish to cut out the florist
completely, then you can learn to make your own flowers.
By cutting out the florist you can go direct to the
wholesaler.
This means you can be a lot more creative
and make your flower arrangements more special. It is important
not to be scared to try to do your own arrangements as most of
the skill is just to have the courage to try.
The bridesmaids and bridal bouquets do take
a little more skill, but if you are unwilling to have a go at
making them, then simply using half a dozen calla lilies can
look just as effective as a full waterfall bouquet.
If you do decide to make homemade
arrangements, it is important to keep the flowers fresh.
To do this, if your wedding is on a
Saturday, you will need to pick them up on the Wednesday before
from the wholesaler flower distributors and keep them in plenty
of water.
The Thursday will need to be taken up for
the arrangement and then on the Friday simply spray them to
keep them looking at their best.
When doing the arrangements, it might be
good to get some of your bridesmaids and female relatives to
help you set everything up, and it's great for moral support
too.
Using Silk
Wedding Flowers
If you're on a budget or simply prefer to
plan ahead, an inexpensive option is to arrange for a florist
to crreate your own silk wedding bouquet.
There are some couples who do not like to
use real flowers at all and use silk . This again can be done
using a florist who can do silk wedding flower packages. Even
if you do not use silk flowers for everything, they can look
very effective on top of a wedding cake or even for your
bridesmaids or table decorations.
There's a wide range of realistic flowers
that you can choose from in a range of colors. Your florist
will help you put together something that works for you - but
brides often choose from calla lillies , gerber daisy,
hydrangea and finish it off with matching ribbon.
There are many ways that flowers can be used
for table centre pieces in your reception. One way is the use
of an american floral reef that can in corporate your flower
themes, red roses can looks especially effective, even more so
when joined with a church candle in the middle of the reef.
Using silk, it's important to remember that
most people are unable to tell the difference, even close
up. It's also one less headache in the week before your
wedding day .
